Excavation Started!!!

Excavation started on our block this week. Great to see the beginning of our build. Work on the slab starts Monday.

Construction certificate

Construction certificate was received 16/9....Let the building begin!!!

Plans approved YAY

Some exciting news... our plans were approved yesterday!!
As we are going through a private certifier we now have to wait a few days for the construction certificate.
Can't wait to get a start.

Clay Pavers

We found some bargain clay pavers from Austral. They are driveway quality at $15.75 per m2. We are planning to do 60 m2 - the header course in brown and the main area in grey herringbone pattern. They come in 4 different colours and designed to go with most of their bricks.

Colour Selections

We made a lot of colour selections today - went pretty well. Going for a fairly neutral scheme inside with the exception of the media room which will be Dulux Exposed elements, a dark grey. We didn't realise how many items have to be selected like trim colours, taps, handles etc. Still a long way to go though with tiles and kitchen still to be selected. Cheers to Craig and Wayne who were most helpful and patient.

My new toy - bought on ebay - I'm planning a lot of concrete footings and brick landscaping.

Contracts signed - Plans submitted to council!!

We have progress!! After waiting for final Ok from the bank, we have now signed the building contract and plans have been submitted to council this week.

These are the updated plans with just a few minor changes ie: we now have a larger island bench in the kitchen, changed under bench oven to wall oven and microwave space and coffered ceilings in the media room.

So now we play the waiting game again for council approval.
